One of the aesthetically important aesthetic units is the buttocks. While some people have fuller and more oily buttocks, others may appear weak in the buttock area. The buttocks are significant areas of body beauty.

In buttock aesthetics, the goal is to shape and increase the volume of the buttocks, fill them from the sides and center, and hollow and slim down the waist area. A flat buttock appearance is common in thin or excessively weight-reduced individuals. In Latin races, the hip area tends to be fuller, while in Asian races, it is generally flatter.

There are two commonly used surgical methods to achieve hip fullness. Fat injection and augmentation with implants are the most commonly used methods. While fat injections (BBL: Brazilian butt lift) are more commonly performed nowadays, not every patient is suitable for fat injection. Hip implants are silicone-based devices. Implant placement is usually performed in the intramuscular or submuscular plane. In our clinic, the intramuscular method is often preferred, but the method may vary from patient to patient. Implants ranging from 300 to 600cc are generally preferred. Typically, appropriate incisions are made close to the midline for the operation, and suitable implants are placed according to this plan.

Complications that can occur after gluteal augmentation with implants include:

• Risks associated with anesthesia

• Asymmetry

• Deep vein thrombosis

• Swelling and discoloration of the skin

• Scar (scar) problems may be observed.

Buttock implants and fat injections into the buttocks are often combined with other surgeries. After the operation, you will be fitted with appropriate corsets and pillows. Your dressings will be done regularly for the first week. Generally, the healing process takes about 2 weeks after surgery. You should pay attention to your follow-ups, and detailed recommendations will be provided.
